I've played most of the classes up to lv 20/30 and the champion was probably the strongest solo; you can (or could) build up "fervour" for massive strikes and self heals were pretty powerful. Guardian. So you kill much faster. Champions build Fervour during combat to use as a resource to unleash their most powerful skills. Captain is one of the best tanks in LOTRO, as they have the pretty good survival and offer some of the best group utility when compared to other tanks.
